i would think you would need different door panels (interior ones), the windo motor, and some wiring. maybe more. bump for you

Almost any car audio shop can do power locks (keyless w/alarm) for 75-125 per door... they also make aftermarket power windows that are universal.... stay away from any aftermarket power window kit that does not provide new motor assembly and arms to raise and lower the window..... the spal kit has gears and basically adds a motor to turn you cranks.. they are a bad idea they will go bad or blow a fuse and leave you with a window down or stuck in the up position...

You would need.
2 wiring harness in the doors
2 door locks motors in the doors
2 window motors in the doors
2 door panels with switches
Floor wire harness
Relays.
All this from and SI or EX. let me know if u have any other questions.

I do the power window conversion right now on my EK Hatchback. I got every part you need from a totalled car for cheap... but without the floor harness. This sucks. If I would have known this before, I would never do it again. You have to build out your doors in order to get all those cabels in to the inner room. The room between the door and the fenders is really small to wire it up.

I did this to my 93 hatch and I am pretty sure the same procedure applies to 96+ Civics.
Parts you need that can be found at the local junkyard:
2 door panels from an EX Coupe w/switches and wiring harnesses - very important if you want the OEM look
2 power window motor w/wire harness
2 power door lock latches w/wire harness
1 power door lock control unit w/wire harness
And about 3 hours of your weekend . You don't need the entire wire harness behind the doors unless you want it to be strictly OEM. It's just more work and I don't think it's worth the effort.

i have done a power window coversion since 3 years ago...and i can tell u what u need....door panels, power window switch, the motor, and the brackets, this will all be from the ex or si doors...just get everythign form the ex or si...and every thing will be bolt-ons...but i couldnt really get the whole harness of the plugs out..so i cutted them..and had to figured out the wired....u would have to wired up 5 wires on the passegner side..and i think 10 wired on the driver side...i fergot what all the wired were..but if i find out..i'll let u know

I have aftermarket doorlocks and power windows. Easy to install, very smooth, and reliable.
And yes these BMW style switches light up amber.

if you want to put in the complete oem system, plan on setting aside at least a full day. you'll have to rip out most of the interior to put in the floor harness, which goes underneath the carpet across the car. also, you'll obviously have to gut your doors to put everything in. you'll need the complete floor harness and everything thats in both doors. i did this in my 97 hatch with parts from a 98 coupe. make sure the cars between your car and floor harness match (96-98, 99-00). yes there is a difference in the wiring. i thought it was worth the work, especially since i already had all the parts anyway.

Does someone know where to buy a used floor harness for a 96-98 Civic to hook up power windows and power mirrors? I tried our local Honda dealer but he wants EUR 400+ for a complete harness. And I can´t get a used one here. It seems that all wrecked Civics have the same bone stock interior like mine.

I never got a floor harness b/c it was only 2 or 3 wires needed to run across the cabin....I have had my 00Si set up in my hatch for around a year now and have had no prob.s! OEM is the best!
as far as power locks go I would go to a radio store and get some actuatores (SP?) for cheap and have them do it... then you can hook up the harness to the actuatores to have power locks

Re: (ITRacer121)
Is it still a PITA to add just the power locks? I don't want power windows just locks. And I'm even thinking about getting aftermarket actuators for this and saying screw the OEM stuff.....
Would I just need OEM floor harness & harness in doors. Do I have to run the harness (wires) from the door to the interior or is it just plug-n-play inside the door / cabin (like fog lamps didn't have to run wires through firewall)?
Car: 96 Cx
Thanks!

problem with the spal kit is that you still have the post sticking trought the door panel. you can get a cover for them but they still look hideous in my opinion.
