Default Power Door Lock/Window Conversion on an EG

Ok... I've did a lot of research on the conversion so far... and I'm good with electrical so i can probably fab up my own wiring harness. I have a spare 94 ex coupe... and I'm going to buy a hatch shell. I was wondering if i could just pull the doors from the ex coupe and put them on the cx hatch? i know i'd still have to yank the body harness from the coupe and then transfer it to the body of the cx.. which is fine. I'd rather not have to remove the regulator and actuators and stuff if i can just swap doors. Thx for the help in Advanced

removing the door is easy. just unbolt 4 screws and knock out the bitch pin holding the door stopper.

for your power door lock conversion. you need the fuse box to door harnesses. that will be the difficult part since the door harnesses to the chassis include the floor harness which connects to the passenger.

note: don't mix jdm doors with usdm harnesses, very different wiring.

i have done this conversion twice. both times the proper way. couldnt tell for your life that it didnt come from the factory when i was done.

i did it on a cx as well as a vx hatch. what you need to do is take the dash out of both cars, remove the entire wiring harness off the firewall and engine bay (all one big *** piece), you need the under dash fusebox as well as the under hood fusebox transferred over with all the wiring. you done want to switch the doors, just gut them and switch the hardware. each door fits their original chassis slightly different. although it might get close to lined up, it will never fit quite like the one you took off. all the bolt holes will be there for the power window hardware as they used the same door shells for either car just equipped them differently. you will want to use the stock ex coupe door wiring harness as it has the rubber grommets to keep everything protected from the elements. use all the switches and the door panels fronm the ex and you should be golden. you will need to make sure that you switch the srs reel and guage cluster if you are going for the cruise also (which if you are wanting power locks/windows, i'd guess you would want cruise too) this is also a good time/way to add air conditioning, i did on both cars. if i left anything out i apologize but its a pretty big thing if you want to do it right with only using oem parts. if any questions pm me and ill try to help

hmm.... well i don't need cruise control. i really don't wanna have to gut it out. I'm an installer at circuit city so i'm always wiring stuff up. If it looks like i've gotta gut a lotta stuff... I'll just make my own wiring harness. I did it on my friends s12 and it works perfectly. Now my question is... is there any good wiring diagrams? and are there any good sites that show all the wire colors?

looking in my car this morning at the dkp.. i noticed a lil box in front of the grommet. i'm guessing i should remove that to remove the plug from the door. then i guess that goes to the fuse box? i also believe that harness is tied in with the harness that has the parking lights, brake lights and what not right? i see it connected to the harness that goes to the rear of the car... so i'm guessing i just cut off those extra wires?
