Post Valve set electrical issue
Yesterday afternoon, I set the valves on my 1995 Del Sol - In a classic blonde moment, I forgot to remove the socket wrench that I was using to rotate the motor, and tried to fire it up...
Now - I get no dash lights at all, but I do get the warning beeps when I put the key in the ignition.
Where would you look first if you were in this position ?
I'm guessing it's a relay, but I've looked in the main fusebox in the engine compartment and the drivers side fusbox, and everything looks to be good..
Thanks,
Ken

Re: Post Valve set electrical issue
So - I checked every fuse in the underdash and engine bay boxes, replaced the Main Relay and checked continuity on the Large value fuses in the engine compartment fuse box.
Any ideas on what to check next ?
Thanks,
Ken

Re: Post Valve set electrical issue
Day Three of troubleshooting - buzzards have started circling my Del Sol - please Help !
Symptoms: You can insert the key and you get the familiar Beep - if you switch to "On" or "Start" the beep goes away, then when you return the key to "Off" the beep comes back, but at a different frequency (Much Lower) until you pull the key from the ignition...
So Far, I've swapped the following with a different del sol:
Main Relay
ECU
The two smaller relays under the dash
The black Relay connected to the under dash fuse panel
And the running Del Sol continues to run, and the buzzards continue to circle the other one...

Re: Post Valve set electrical issue
so you did a valve adjustment, and forgot to remove the socket wrench from the crankshaft.. then you tried to start it up and there were no lights? What about the ground wire that goes to the top of the valve cover or p/s bracket? did you remember to attach that.

Yay - thanks for checking in - yes, the ground wire is attached.
The next item I'm ready to check is the PGM-FI relay - but - I cant find it... I've swapped out just about every relay I can find under the dash.
Thanks for any and all help.
