Possibly getting 94 dx hatch
This is my first post here. I have a 1991 Toyota MR2 NA, hence the name mstr22u. I am trying to save money to buy a 1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo. While bartering with a friend for parts from his parts car, we got (somehow) to talking about a trade; he recently wrecked his MR2 and is having withdrawls.
The trade:
1991 Toyota MR2 NA - 180k miles, engine runs rough, front-right suspension knock. Completely stock.
-for-
1994 Honda Civic HB (dx), 130k miles, runs well. Aftermarket headunit, 2 12" subwoofers. Stock except AEM intake. Also thrown in is a complete b18b1 engine (dis-assembled.)
I am definetly close to doing this, he needs to work out a few things. This car would be my daily/winter driver to compliment the MR2 Turbo but I don't want it to be a complete dog. So my questions are:
Is there any easy (read: cheap, no forced-induction) way to get power out of the 1.5 sohc non-vtec?
Would the b18b1 make good na power? If not, how much money (estimating) could I get for the engine?
Is a b18c1 a good/viable swap into this car?
This car won't get too much in the way of mods, but I think I'll slap some Rota Circuit 8's on there, lower it and lose the subs. I want a D.D. with some pep; the car doesn't need to be a beast. The MR2 will have a 20G turbo and put down ~300rwhp. This just needs to get me to work and through snow. Thanks in advance.
Here's a picture of the car:

Re: Possibly getting 94 dx hatch (mstr22u)
thats a good deal..
you can remove those subs and sell them to a local rice shop to save money for perfoamance parts!!
i say go for it!
the gsr engine is a good swap infact, many ppl have talked about this and i am sure you can find loads of threads about swappin the gsr in there.. gl
