Default Is it possible to switch the front end of an eg hatch or coupe with that of a Del Sol??

Like the title says. I really like the eg hatch and coupe, and intend to drop my h22 project into one ( ) but I have always loved the del sol front end. Only problem is the sol's are just too damn fat. So apart from the obvious fenders, hood, headlights, and bumper what else would I need? Would the civic bumper supports fit inside without modification, and would I have to use the Del Sol core support? Thanks for your time

Most of the Sols aernt over 2400 lbs. That isnt all that heavy man. But yes, I'm sure you could do it with enough money. I think you just about have it covered parts wise, but be a guinea pig and find out for sure.

Hmm I must have been missinformed then, I was under the notion that the Del Sols were all in the 2500-2600 lbs range. Hmm I may need to think about things again. Thanks.

Yeah, I think they had some info about Del Sol weights in the threads about the EG front end on the Sols.....Let me look and see if I can find anything.

EDIT: Bah, I can't remember what the thread is called and did'nt find it searching. If anybody else remembers, please help this guy out.

Seen it done..

It's not too difficult as they are basically the same EG style chassis, with similar dimensions, etc..

I've seen it go both ways, with a EG6 front end on an EG2, and an EG2 front end on an EG6. Doesn't really look to awful either because they have the same rounded look to them.

I would assume you'd end up using almost an entire del Sol front end to make things easier on yourself.
