Possible rod failure, or just out of tune?
My wife's '93 Civic has been acting up for the last year. I never even look at the car except for oil changes, so I really never know how it's doing. Well, today I drove and noticed it really tends to 'jump' at low RPMs. When I say 'jump', I mean the car cuts in and out like it has no power for a split second, then it's back to normal. This typically occurs between 2000-3000 that it misses/siezes (I really don't know which). It happens so quick I don't even know if it stops firing.
Has anyone had an experience similar to this? The reason took it out was because I was gonna do a tune up on it (it hasn't has one in like 5 years). Now I'm wondering of I should even bother with the tune up.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
