Possible problem with FPR gauge
 

Wassup guys,

I recently notice that my FPR gauge on my car stays at 40 psi when the car is turned off. Is this a sign of a bad gauge? Normal thinking would say it should go all the way down to 0 correct? The gauge does fluctuate higher when i hit the gas. The motor is a B18C1 if that matters and i am using the stock GSR fpr and gauge.

mine stays at pressure too for a while after i shut off the car. its normal b/c the fuel system is still pressurized after you stop the engine

its just the stock gsr one

you are talking about the psi gauge right? If there is a type of brand for the type of gauge for a stock gsr. Then i dont know. Its just a stock one. My friends stock gsr has the same one.

I think we have a misunderstanding. Does the fuel pressure gauge you have look like any of these? Does it sit on top of the fuel filter?

Are you saying that you have a stock Fuel pressure regulator on your GSR?
@ries I think is asking about the gauge that you added to your fuel system to give you a reading. That portion is aftermarket, like the picture above.

My setup did the same thing. If it doesn't, then you have a leak some where.

Almost all cars do this they have to hold residual pressure because no one hardly lets thier fuel pump up and prime for start up.

If you have a stock fuel pump, then this is completely normal as there is a check valve in the pump that helps to maintain the pressure when the car is shut off.

Ok guys when i checked my gauge in the morning... It went to 0 psi. So you guys were right... I guess there is residual pressure that stays for a while. But i guess it then goes away https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
