possible problem with brakes?
Ok. I have a 98ex and I did a rear disc conversion a few months back. Got the parts from a '00 SI along with the prop valve. I'm using ATE Superblue Racing brake fluid. I have powerslot slotted rotors w/AEM pads front/rear. I also have Yokohama Avid H4s 205/45r16. I DO NOT have SS lines.
I've been noticing that my brakes seem to lock up easily. For example this morning the genuis in the left lane decides to take a right turn and I had to get on the brakes before he came over on top of me. The car stops, but the brakes lock up, screeching noises, and a fair amount of white smoke coming from the tires and I got to smell burning rubber the rest of the way to work.
What I've noticed is that my front rotors have a nice shine to them and you can see normal wear on them from the pads. However the rear rotors don't appear to have much wear at all. Almost like they aren't doing much. I understand that most of the braking is done by the front, but I have put over 10k miles on the car since the conversion, so I would expect more wear on the rear rotors by now.
I'm wondering if it is simply that I need stickier tires to accomodate the upgraded brakes. I'm also wondering if I got the right prop valve? There were not any markings on it to distinguish it from my stock EX prop valve.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I did the same swap, only difference was that I got a GSR MC/Booster (13/16 I believe). My rear discs also took a while to look 'shiny' like the fronts, but unfortunately I don't remember the exact mileage it took (I am sure it was under 10K though).
I would check and make sure that the prop valve is indeed off an Si, although I don't know how you would check. I got mine from Sohfast.com for $60.
And, I do have the same wheel lock up problem you described, but as far as I know all Si's do the same - I even tried braking on several of my friends' Si's and got the same feel/results.

Re: possible problem with brakes? (tominos)
get a booster/master cylinder from the si. the small mc, tends to lock up the rear wheels easier.
Also, judging from the smoke, all 4 wheels are locking up.
Thanks for the info.
This trial user thing is getting annoying... Only 5 posts in 24hrs... who came up with that one?...
