Possible to perform Auto to Manual Tranny conversion?
I am picking up a 92 Hatch and I need to know if I can swap a manual tranny into the car coupled with a b16 motor. I plan on adding a turbo later. This is just a fun project car. I am new to the honda world and need some help.
1. How much would this cost?
2. How long would it take?
3. What all is involved and does anyone have a parts list?
Thanks in advance.
Mike

Do a search in the archived sections, I know there is a good post about what parts and how much it costs.

I was not searching the right thing. For future use, here is a thread that seems helpful:

Re: (Scho)
why not pick up a car that is already manual? That conversion is a pain in the *** and unless you already have the car then why not pick up one that isn't auto??

I can get a car that is pretty nice inside and out with new paint local to me for a good price. The only problem is the auto. It will be my daily driver, so I dont want to put too much money into it.

You don't want to put too much money into it yet you want to do a swap and a turbo?

i help my friend do his... it sucks.. but fairly easy. if u dont want to spend much i would go with a ls motor.. more torque and cheaper.. if u got all the parts i would say.. 1 day for the manual swap.. u basically need a clutch resivoir, line, fork, pedal, shift linkage, shifter and tranny,, i would go for the b series swap at the same time though. my buddy got all the parts from my old crashed car... im him whodat here on ht..

I did it too when swapping the auto off my 93 DX HB with a B18C1. You need to buy a manual tranny mount (got mines from Place Racing for $85.00, if I recall), or wield the biatch in. Custom fabricating the manual tranny mount is where it'll cost you. The swap took about three days, engine and all. Mostly due to parts hunting.

if your buying a b16a then all u will need is the shifter assembly, clutch master cyl, clutch lines & slave cyl, and a tranny mount because you have an automatic chassis. dont forget to connect the 2 fat wires on the harness by the shifter or else it wonst start.
