possible mini me swap, need info.
ive been bitten by the honda bug a little bit, it offers mileage that i can afford and a power to weight ratio thats pretty fun. anyway, im considering a mini me swap but i need some info. i read the write up already and i still have some questions.
1. what vehicles will i find the 1.6 vtec head in?
2. do different ecus have different rpms for engaging the solenoid?
3. id like the solenoid to open up at about 4000 rpms. is this possible? why or why not?
4. i have a 92 4 door lx. is this swap practical for a daily driver that gets occasional use on hills and turns through country roads?
thanks in advance for any info on this subject.

2-Get the ECU for the head. You can't really mix-n-match heads like that.
3-VTEC engages where it does for a reason. Leave it alone.
4-Waste of money actually for the little gain that you get. With your transmission you should leave well enough alone.
I don't now what you think the swap will do for you but I don't think your goals are realistic. Boost it or swap engines.

Not worth it like stated imo a d16z6 transmission would be a better bang for your buck found in 92-95 civic si's and ex coupes hope this helps!

thanks for the info. im still a noob to hondas, ive always worked on american v8s. by the numbers it looks like a 15% gain in hp with a mini me swap without raising the compression. on american v8s those are considered good numbers.
what mods, along with a transmission would you all recommend for a 92 4 door daily driver that will be enjoyed on country roads involving some fun turns and hills? im not looking to lower it and id like to stay with the d15 to keep fuel economy, since i traded my jeep for the honda to save money on fuel anyway. i already have to fix the rear springs the previous owner torched and i have to redo all of the bushings front and back.

1. 92-95 ex d16z6 obd1
2. No, just get a p28, chip and tune it with a reputable tuner.
3. Like said before. VTEC controller
4. And honestly imo, i dont think its a waste of money as a daily, if that is your only purpose of the swap. little extra power for a little amount of money.
