Possible electrical problem, PLEASE help???
Hi,
My car has been recently having a little bug...I am driving normally, usually highway speeds about 40-60mph but then when I ONLY hit the brakes to slow down, like at a stoplight/sign, or slower moving traffic, my radio sometimes shuts off for a second then goes back on. Also, the tachometer and speedometer also flick on and off for a second. It doesn't happen EVERY time I hit the brakes, but it usually happens when I am slowing down from highway speeds.....For example, I am cruising at 55mph, and I hit the brakes lightly to slow down. The radio would turn off for a second or two, and the tachometer and speedometer needles would both drop down to 0 really fast like the car died then a second later they go back up to the rpm's/speed the car was orginally moving at. Also, the tach/speedometer doesn't always just shut down, most of the time it's just the radio. The tach/speedometer needles will flick off then back on only occassionally. Is this an electrical problem? The car NEVER turns off or shuts itself off, it is always running. It only happens when I step on the brakes sometimes, not when I'm cruising around at a steady speed. Any info you guys can give? Thanks for any replies.
