not worth it.... for that amount of money... just get a b18c. the difference between the two are minimal. essentially a b16b is a destroked b18 anyways... besides why waste that money on a swap when you have a perfect platform motor in your car already... most people swap out because they have sohcs... non-vtec etc. invest the dollars into the b16 already in your car...

Not at all worth the extra cost. Build a poor-man type R, b16 head and b18c block.

i never did understand why people with SI's swap out a perfectly good b16a2 motor. i see it all the time amd its so dumb. unless you blow your motor with no chance of a rebuld then the b16 is a good motor to keep. shame on you

why would you swap out ur b16a for a b16b with higher compression when u have a turbo???? just like turboing a typeR high compression is good for all motor....low compression is good for boost....you know this man...comon!!!

what he said, and just becuase it's a typer doesn't mean you have to put in a different one. if you could find a JDM b16, that would be good.

or only a difference of 15..my b16a sir-II makes 170 116..remember not all b16's make 160 bro not knocking..just adding to the tread..just do CTR cams like i did and raise the compression with like a spoon headgasket..which i also did as well as ITR manifold and T/B and you pretty much have a b16b for alot less..

forget the B16B,especially if you already have a B16 in your car.for the price of that CTR motor, you could do a few things:
1)throw in B18C/LS-VTEC/B20-VTEC,and have money left over....along with a LOT more torque.
2)for the price of B16B you could turbo your current motor and i gurantee you'll be much happier.
3)if you just want ot do it to be a JDM *****,save yourself a bunch of money and time and put a red valve cover on your stock B16.

get some toda cams and valvetrain, high 12:1 comp pistons, hondata, lsd. i guarentee you'll smoke any b16b. b16b is definately not worth the money considering how much the engine costs vs how much you can sell your current b16a for. just not worth it.

not even that. if he thinks getting a type-r is the **** "jus cuz its a type-r", what makes you think he knows enough on how to maintain boost. forced induction isn't something you can just slap on your car, there's other factors one might consider upgrading to avoid problems or at the worst, detonation.

Thats not the point, and even then, about $5000 for 25 hp? Stick with the B16A2 and go boost, you'll be happier.
