what are some possibilites for my vtec not kicking in? its a 98 honda civic ex d-series

One would be low oil believe it or not. You should do a search...be creative...and you should find the answer to your question. Are you throwing any CELs?? That would be Check Engine Lights?

well anyways check the oil level, oil pressure, vtec solinoid for clogs etc...

That post by the circuit guy is right on spot. You should make SURE your oil level is correct before anything else.

yeah i know to check oil level first, that is why i put it first but i also threw out some extra things for him that are not to difficult.
