Port and Polish or Chipped P28 for my SOHC
Hey guys, I will have a new valvetrain here soon with a Crower Stage 2 cam. I already have a Walbro 225 fuel pump, a B&M fpr, and a VAFC for when I get the car tuned. Should I get a chipped P28 to make use of the higher powerband, or go for the P&P? Please don't say both, funds only support one or the other right now, thanks!

Port and Polish. Maybe if you sold your body kit and white-flame vinyl graphics, you could afford both

Re: (BMac86)
In all honesty though, get the ported head. Only thing I am concerned about, like someone else said, a good port and polish job is going to cost you far more than the price of a chipped P28. Don't forget if you do get a chipped P28, you are also going to have to buy (or make if you are good at wiring) an OBD2-OBD1 conversion harness.

Re: (Sc2_Dan)
I never said I was beign creative thanks, back to the topic if you please. And ferio, yea Id be getting an ecu and harness. And guys, I said money permits one or the other, but I never said that I dont have the money to get a good P&P. I have enough to do one or the other, but if I do ecu, Ill have a chunk of change left over.

Re: (BMac86)
I paid $750 for my head job and $300 for my chip... Honestly, I felt no difference with the chip other than the ability to rev higher and remove the speed limiter. At the stock 6800 redline, the car pulled great. Just wait and get the chip in a month or two, you're better off finishing one part of the car first then just bouncing around.

and since you said you would have some change leftover, you are well on your way to the p&p.
