Which end of the car for starters?
Can you tell which side?
Repeated popping, or just one pop?
Is it loud? Speed related? Over bumps?

More details.

we put brand new halfshafts on the car. the old ones were bad but the only thing i can think of is the rack and pinion.

I'm betting on the front LCA bushings. That's what it was in my car, both sides.

It makes this loud pop/clunk noise, one-three times. You can usually feel it too, in the pedals.

Not really. I mean, replace it when you can, but it's not life/death.

Well, mine happened all of the sudden too. It just happens more frequently as it wears more.

$41.95 for the entire Energy Suspension front control arm bushing set (both sides) from Summit Racing.

http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku

Beats paying $100.xx for each side from Honda.

Most likely. If you bring the arms and kit to an alignment shop and pay in cash, I'm sure they'd cut you a deal.
