I have a 1995 honda civic ex with a ton of mods.
car has been driving good but i i did some maintence now my steering sucks bad.
i replaced 1 outer tie rid end. at 1st the car pulled heavy to one side and the tire would screech while going straight on 1st test drive (i know really bad) i did a ghetto alignment and got it driveable but the steering wheel wouldnt return at all when making turns.
so i then went to get it aligned, after a few shops complained about doing alignments on lowered cars i finally found 1. they did it but they did the good old "set the toe let it go" well any way my steering wheel returns a bit but not like it use too and under high speeds the car is really floaty.
what can i do to correct the problem? the only thing i can think of is the tie rod end has a zerk fitting that i didnt put grease in. any other suggestions please help

Possibly try bleeding out your power steering fluid? Is it foamy or milky looking after you fire up the engine? I can't imagine replacing a tie rod and an alignment would all of a sudden cause your woes.

my power steering fluid was replaced around 8000 miles ago and is still there in decent shape no foaming or bubbling.

also the problem didnt happen til replaced the tie rod end. thats why im focusing on it right now. i think i installed it incorrectly even through everything went smoothly.

as cheep as tie rod are and having to spend $60 plus on an alighnment why wouldn't you have changed both tie rods? What are the specs that they set your alignment to?

get another alignment try firestone. i got a lifetime alignment for like 150.
