poor gas mileage
i know their are several threads out there but each is different. i have a 98 cx hatch that gets around 250 mpg when it hits the line next to the E. now i have been switching from using the stock intake to aftermarket intakes/using the stock without the air sensor and every time i get a increase in mpg on the first tanks then i goes back to 250mpg. is a sensor to blame?
how about ingition timing/ wires/cap/rotor? i remember when i got the car the distirbutor was bolted pushed back and i adjusted it toward the center.
also do you recommend changing bothe 02 sensor eventhough only the top looks bad? thanks

so you've tried all these combonations of intakes with and without the sensor and eventually you get bad mileage again. (just to be sure i understand you.)
anything else done to the car (I/H/E...)? any CEL? otherwise i'll assume you've done all the other things like keeping pressure in your tires and clean air filter.. blah blah
you may want to get your timing set with a light. you were good setting the dist in the middle of the bolt, that works most of the time. but since you are having problems, you'll want to be certain it's right.

Yeah, 25mpg is a bit low for a CX, I used to get 40-43 bone stock. How long do you let the car warm up on average? Do you wait till it's toasty warm inside before you drive? What about a Check Engine Lght?
