Poor fuel mileage 95 del sol s stock engine...
My 95 del sol s with stock d15b7 has been getting around 25mpg I'm not sure why I don't wanna just throw a bunch of money at it to fix it...it's throwing no codes and the only drivability issue I've noticed it a slight hiccup in acceleration only with ac on
Car has 187k uses no oil nor leaks any
Also has a small exhuast leak
Recently replaced plugs cap rotor coil oil change
I'm thinkin it could have something to due with a o2 sensor just not sure since there's no code also thinkin about the grounds and dunno if this would have anything to do with it but my iacv acts up sometimes
Well open to yours ideas thanks all

Does the CEL work?
Did you also replace the plug wires?
Is the ignition timing set to spec?
Is the engine running cold (stuck open or no thermostat)?
Is the fuel pressure too high? Is the FPR working?

Yes the cel works
It seems to run a little below half way on the gauge
The wires prolly need replacing I doubt it's a fpr issue
Timing is in spec

My 97 del Sol S averages 25-26MPG, but it eats oil, about a quart every 1000 miles on continuous driving and I do mostly city driving...I did notice that if I drive right at or below the speed limit and dont lead foot it every time off the light while gently accelerating, I can get the 28-29MPG in combined city and freeway driving, but driving like that can get me killed in LA

Yah i run AC all the time as well so thats gotta eat in the fuel economy a little...BTW how are you able to tell that you have a leak in your exhaust? Mines been making some funny sounds lately, especially when im stopped at a light...goes clunk clunk clunk like its trying to cough...

This can be so many variables to your problem
As for my del sol when I got a new exhaust, ECU and distributor, my gas mileage improved exponentially.
I found the original window sticker it said 40mpg highway I get pretty close to that now, in the 38 range with AC on 3
The ECU was used , Distributor Honda OEM , Exhaust 2.25 muffler shop special
With no backpressure you gonna bog-down and get horrible gas mileage
Also are you still rocking those S steelies? I'd drop em and get the aluminum SI 5spokes

Actaully I've got blades on it lol
I've already replaced everything in the dizzy except the icm it has some Megan header and a test pipe and a muffler (not a fart can lol) it also has a Sri all the mods where on when I got it except the muffler which I replaced cause the one on it sounded like ***.
I just cleaned my throttle body and intake and iacv I'll change my wires next as they aren't so great they don't click anymore when installed and maybe a new o2 sensor too

I also replaced the dizzy but thats cause the ignition coil died on me and had to have the car towed to Honda to be fixed...also replaced all sparks and wires, O2 sensor, rear main seal and axel seal...it has an aftermarket exhaust that sounds like its going...not sure why you would need to replace the ecu, but i might try that if i can find a cheap used one...also rolling on 14" skinny fives...
