How much weight do they actually reduce? If I had the money and nothing better to do with it, I would get the fenders, probably painted though.

Netoo. But all it takes is some jerks car door to ruin there natural finish so definately paint them.
There is carbon fiber doors out there too, now thats real weight savings. Back Yard Special sells them.

you should compare a stock fender to a CF fender. there is hardly any weight difference. at most, you might shave a pound off the front.
unless you have a show car, it's a waste of $.

Agreed. I was once a big advocate for CF fenders until I realized just how minimal the weight-savings would actually be. I'm not one to purchase an item for the "bling" factor (especially not unpainted CF parts), and these are basically just that - similar to stock-style CF front lips.

They dont save much because the fenders are already light enough. CF fenders are pretty much for posers. People who are into the "show" side of the hobby.

Re: Poll: CF fenders (Migs)
just go ahead and do the cf hood, the cf fenders, the cf bumper(front & rear), and the cf trunk. IF it's for the track, just dont do the doors, not safe. On the street, nah, too much hassle.

Some don't even save weight due to the thickness of the C/F. A stock fender is pretty damn light if you ask me.

In theory its a good idea...but not for a street car. Even on a show car...going for that "race" look doesn't cut it. Its not like you see actual race cars without painted carbon fiber. Starting to get cheesy...even the hoods....

Re: Poll: CF fenders (allmtr)
I wouldn't want them for the weight reduction, I just need more flare in the fender. I don't want to run 205's on my Civic. If someone has some flared fenders, steel, aluminium, carbon fiber, fiberglass, play-doh or anything, hook me up, I can't seem to find them anywhere.

You can actually flare your own fenders to a slight degree. The fender bolt holes are elongated to get proper fitment. You can loosen the bolts and pull the whole fender to the outside just a little bit and you'll be able to clear a wider tire. i wouldn't loosen the front and the rear bolt so you don't have gaps between your door and fender and headlight and fender though.

Re: Poll: CF fenders (JV)
if you actually felt a stock fender you would not be posting this, a cf fender would be completely useless, if i was rolling in cold hard cash i still wouldnt waste my money on a pair. and you will not be able to adjust fitment like you can on a stock metal fender, better hope it firts perfect right from the manufacturer b/c it wont bend.
