Honestly if you can't get those rubber rings out, you'd have to be the idiot...

Also to be honest. the before and after pix look the same. You forget to polish or something?

looks okay. keep on polishing it for shinier results. when ever you get those gaskets off, change them since they are stiff.

yeah I don't know... it kinda just looks like you hit it with a air grinder and a zippy... and too fast in spots at that (hence the yellow/rainbowing)... and then didn't ever polish it...

Would you like me to post a how to so you can do it?

to get the rings off, use smallest flathead.. and what did u polish it with.. sand it first with 500 grit first then use a polish and buff it.. i rather strip it with paint stripper and paint with bling color.. it looks cleaner

to polish you should start wetsanding with like 340 to 500 grit to get through all the pores in the metal. When everything is smooth then go to a 1000 grit wet sand till you get all the scratches from the 500 grit away, then use a 1500 or 2000 grit to get it really smooth then use white rouge polish with a medium buffing pad to get it to shine. After all that use some metal polish or a little bit of wax to get the (chrome look you want and to protect it).

Pics of polishing above cam part of valve cover i did in the last 20 minutes

or paint it
