ok guys,i bought a 99 civic si and a 01 gsr swap in it,had no ecu,what are the effects of no ecu,i got 1 in my hand,where do i hook it up,thx

Right side passenger area. Pull back carpet and its there #3 is the ECU, see that bigger rectangle by the front passengerside wheel. thats where it is.

ok guys other problem,i went for inpectiona nd it wont read,theres a rectangle ecu in there,and the guy shipped me this square 1,which 1 is the right 1 for the car

if you have a gsr motor i think the p72 should be the rite one

You know theres different P72s right? OBD1, OBD2a, and OBD2b... They aren't interchangable really. (unless you have a conversion harness) You probably got the wrong one if its not plugging in, or the ECUs shot

I'm not sure if a P2t/GSR will pass emissions...

yea im just trying to fifgure out why it wont read and the diffrence between the p2t and the p72,there all obd2 that came with the car

No JDM ECU can be read for emissions. It HAS to be a USDM ECU. When they say "OBD2" ECU and it's JDM, they're lying. It's got the same connector as OBD2 ECU's but, it doesn't talk OBD2 to a scanner.

I'm in the same boat here too. Have a JDM P73 ECU for my R swap and have to borrow my buddies USDM P73 ECU to get through emissions.
