PLEASE HELP! tach swap prob need to be solved today!
So i did an auto to manual swap in my 2000 civic ex, and with the swap i put in a 98 manual ecu. Now, it is my understanding that the 98 ecu does not emit a tachometer signal, and the manual derives its signal straight from the distrubutor. Thus, i bought a manual 97 integra cluster because no matter how hard i tried to wire the dizzy up to the auto (with tach) cluster in my ex, the signal just wouldn't work (i believe the frequency was too different). So, i used the wiring diagram provided by BlueIntegraBoy on this website and i basically got everything to work besides 3 problems... 1. My tach still doesnt work. 2. The gauges don't light up at night with the headlights. and 3. Not only did i have an extra yellow wire that shouldnt exist according to the diagram, but also my turn signals dont work if i have the low fuel light wire in, but also if i dont have that wire in, my high beam light doesnt work anybody have any idea what i should do? ive been trying to troubleshoot and plug certain wires in different places but i still havent gotten everything to work also, ive theorized that that yellow wire has somehting to do with the automatic, but im not sure what, and i havent been able to pin down its purpose through the haynes manual (no pun intended). any suggestions? also, if possible, im only home for a day from college so id like to fix this before i drive in the early morning tomorrow...
