Default Please help with Power Steering

Ok I have a question and it has probably been asked before but I have heard responces both ways to this. I have a 1999 Civic HX and I want to take my power steering system out of my car. not completly just mainly the pump and I want to drain it of the fluids. I have heard that doing this will dammage the power steering part of the steering rack is this true? If it is is there a way to prevent this from happening while still removing power steering (I dont want to just remove the belt). I want to do this more for feel than power as at high speeds (anything above 60) my wheel feels to light for my tastes. Any help would be appriciated.

the Proper way would be to install a manual steering rack from a non pwr string civic.

It's true that if there is no fluid in the rack, it would mess up ur steering system...

This is what i done... I installed the steering rack from an ITR and i took off the belt, pump, resirvor tank, pully etc etc... The only thing u'll need to do is plug up the return line by connecting a tube and fill it with fluid... That way, ur rack wont mess up on u... Make sure fluid would still be in the rack... U could do that on the stock rack, i choose the ITR for the better steering and the bigger sway bar...
