Default please help. occasional no start problem

i've been having a seemingly random no start problem with my car in the last few months and havent been able to figure out what it is. my setup consists of a b18c5 with a mugen chipped p28 ecu in a 92 honda civic. it will turn over. just not start, allmost as if it wasnt getting spark or fuel. i tested for spark and it is there.

the only thing that ive noticed that is a consistent factor when the car doesnt start is that it has been sitting in the sun for several hours and is subsequently hot. what sometimes has worked to get it started is opening the hood and letting the engine bay cool down. Is there anything in these cars that is affected by heat that would cause this problem?

any help or advise to lead me in the right dirrection would be great.
thank you
misha

When did you last replace your fuel filter? Maybe it has something to do with your fuel delivery since you said it only happens when it's hot out

MAIN RELAY!!! under your dash by the fuse panel either replace it or re solder the connections inside.. they go bad in the heat after they get older and the solders start to crack and stuff so try that out

Thanks for asking this question. My car is doing the same thing. Here's the odd thing. EVERY time it happens this solves it:

1. clutch out, car in nuetral, try and crank it, doesnst start(clutch out because I have a remote start)
2. First gear, clutch in, crank it, doesnt start
3. second gear, clutch in, crank it, starts.

Every time. No other combo works. ****** weird. I'll check on the relay tomorrow. Thanks all for the answers.

I've got this exact problem on my 96 Civic. It's been getting worse and worse till today the car just wouldn't start. I'll check that relay when I get home. Thanks!
