Default Please help with O2 sensor. CEL.

OK, Just bought my first civic. Its a 96 civic cx. I went to the auto parts store and had them plug it up and it came back throwing 2 codes. O2 sensor heater (sensor 1 and 2).

Will someone please tell me what to do and how to fix this. My car does have an aftermarket AEM intake on it. Ill take pics if you think that will help. Thanks.

plug what up?

you need a new o2 sensor. that'll fix it. your intake has nothing to do with this.

Get an o2 sensor that is plug and play not that bosch crap that you have to wire yourself!!!

you need a jack, a ratchet, and a O2 sensor socket that is the same size drive as your ratchet.

Lift the car up....

unscrew the o2 sensor and unplug it, or Vice versa. and reinstall the new o2 sensor and plug it in,

disconnect the battery and your re connect it and your good to go!!!!!!!

the O2 sensor is located ON the exhaust pipe BEFORE the catalytic converter

and a O2 sensor socket is a socket that has a slit down the side so you can unscrew the sensor, the wire coming off the sensor gets in the way of a normal socket, you can get them at autozone, the same place yuo get the sensor at, just ask them.

It isn't hard, you can do it, GL

you might want to disconnect the battery before you unplug the old one.

And also if you don't have a socket or anything that will fit the o2 sensor, Autozone will rent you out the socket piece for like 10 or 15 bucks, and you get that money back including the tax once you return the tool.
