please help, no driving till fixed, removal of axle from half-shaft

Default please help, no driving till fixed, removal of axle from half-shaft

ok, im trying to get the axle out of the half-shaft on the driver side of my 93 si with a jdmb16 w/hydro lsd b16 tranny, i cant get it out and i have tried everything i can think of, i can find a good place to pry it out either, where does it seperate and where should i pry?, i pulled really hard on the axle in frustration and im pretty sure i seperated something since the boot just sides around on the cup when i turn the other side, help help help please

and this is what its going to look like till i get it fixed

Get a crowbar and pry that bitch off, lift up your skirt and get 'er done.

you need to remove the 3 bolts that hold on the half shaft and give it a good yank....it will come off then seperate the two bolt the half shaft in first then the axle ....not that hard really just time consuming.

bfh prevailed again, thanks guys, and yes i did lift up my skirt and beat that thing like she didn't make me dinner.

also, i was suprised that the inner side is female, is that right, i thought it was male, but the half shaft had the splined piece that stuck out, is the 94 gsr wo/abs still going to fit fine?

pass side is male
drivers side is female because it attaches to the intermediate shaft.

if it's not in your way that damper isn't hurting anything. but you probably won't notice if you take it off

The new ones reman from auto parts stores don't have the vibration balancer is what it is called i think, but it won't affect anything i don't think.

i have a zc motor with zc hydro tranny in my car.. the way i get the halfshaft off is get a big pipe wrench.. open it up. and put the teeth between the axle and halfshaft and hit it with a mini sledge.. as soon as the axle moves.. move the pipe wrench and hit it out with the sledge.. works everytime
