please help my son really messed up
first off I am using my son's screen name. I do not know how to use the search feature to help him out.
He thinks that his ECU went out on him. The car will crank, but will not start. He can not pull any codes. Running a P72 on a GSR. obg1.
any ideas???

Check for a break in the large black/yellow wire that goes to the distributor, start there... Good luck.

Check your spark and fuel. See if your plugs are getting fire and your fuel pump is coming on.
Good luck. It's good to see a dad helping his son and knows about H-T.

Actually that was my mom and sister that was helping me, i was about a 1/2 hour away from home and was just stuck.
What happened was that i was driving and everything just went out, CEL light turned on and car just dies. I didnt know what the hell happened and was lucky as hell i wasnt on the freeway. I thought the ECU went out because the first thing to turn off was my VAFC (which if the ecu isnt working that wont work). I dont understand why even if i had the car on the ON position the VAFC wouldnt turn on, not even to menu (so i thought it was more the ecu).
I restarted the ecu and checked all my fuses (after my mom and sis posted here) and found out my fuel pump fuse went out. What i think happened is that something hit my kill switch and cut the car off, so when i tried to start it again it blew the fuse. So i clicked that on after i found the fuse blown.
What really gets me is my VAFC and ecu. Why did they completely shut off first over everything if it was just my fuel pump fuse? Im starting to think my friend really put a jinx on my car
