Please Help Me! 97 Civic Headlight Problems
I just bought a 97 Civic EX. Its a 2 DR 5 Speed. There is 4 problems with the whole car. The cruise control and factory alarm stopped working after they put in an aftermarket CD player, Then the passenger headlight will not come on. The only way you can get it to work is if you turn on the brights. Just asking for a little help here to so I can get it going. As soon as I got it running its gone and I can get my S2K.
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.

For 96-98 civics, the factory keyless entry is integrated onto the radio itself. Some people would actaully stuff the radio behind the lower console just to keep this feature. Its gone since your radio is off.
You need to get a new set (or just 1) of headlights as your low beam filament is burnt. Thats why, you can only use the highbeams since that hasnt burnt, yet.
Cruise control- not sure...Try to check the internal fuse panel to see if they caused any fuses to burn during the install.

Why not just get a better alarm system for the car. You can find decent ones for 100 bones.

I dont know exactly where but i know it can be done. All that needs to be connected is the connections for the keyless entry and the radio can be stuffed anywhere down there. It has been done. Search for it.

Re: Please Help Me! 97 Civic Headlight Problems ([civic])
Tonight, I finally got some time to check it all out. They factory CD player is still hanging in there. So I dont know if there is something like a burnt fuse or what as far as the the alarm goes. The guy who I bought it from said that he put in blue bulbs and after a year one burned out so he put the stock one he had back in and it still wouldnt work. It wasent a new bulb but he said it worked when he took it out. Im going to try a new bulb though. Also I need to know which fuse is the one for the cruise control and the alarm (if there is one) as the fuse cover is lost.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: ([civic])
Alright Ill check it out.
I went out today and took the driver side bulb(it works on the low beam) and put it in the passenger side and it wouldnt work. Then back into the drivers side and it worked just fine. If I hit the brights then it works.

if you did that, it's obviously not your bulb... check your fuses to see if one is blown. I think the headlight fuses are in the engine compartment fusebox. If yor fuses are good and you can verify you have 12v to the fuses, you have a wiring issue between the the fuse box and the bad headlight.

Re: (kkim)
I looked and the headlight is just one fuse type of a deal. So I dont think the headlights would work at all if that fuse was out. What fuses are in the car under the dash for the headlights?
