like i said, b18c5. its the integra type r motor. its gonna cost alot but u can drive that motor everyday and its reliable. its not like those frankenstein motors that arent supposed to have a vtec head. those r only good for daily driving if you build them right.

how much are you trying to spend? if money is not as issue the go with the newer type r. k20a. 220 hp 151 lb. trq. with basic bolt-ons you should see anywhere from 240 to 250 hp. that's allmotor. factory reliability. but if you're on a budget. b18b. cheap but more options. ls/vtec or turbo.

AAaahh geez... motor swaps for an OBD-II EX civic... D16y8 correct?

B16a2 - Pros...
Somewhat cheap
easy to modify
easy to install
aftermarket goes on forevaaar
cons:
still a 1.6
little itsy bitsy amount of torque LOL

B16B Pros:
Its cool to have an AAAaarrrrrr motor
little more power than 1.6
sounds like raped ape at 9k rpm
Cons:
expensive
still a 1.6

B18B Pros:
Its a 1.8
fun to boost
more torque than average b16/when modded
CHEAP!
cons:
no VTACK LOL
ummm... drawing a blank here

B18C1-Pros:
1.8 with VTACK LOL
aahh hell this is going to take forever

I drive an EM1... Its the same chassis as your car but it came stock with a B16a2... Its not enough... I would recommend a JDM B18C, USDM B18C1, USDM B18C5, LSVTEC, CRVTEC, and of course the K20 FTW... If you're trying to boost, hell I'd roll with a B18b boosted, always fun, and cheaper than most others. Do some research, take your time, don't dive into a motor purchase and regret it later. I've been around the block once or twice and let me tell you there are hella things I regret buying without research. BTW... Most of the noobs that offer advice on this website... ummm... be wary of following. There is good info and members to be had here though. Enjoy!!! Also, use the search button, it kicks ***.
