Why not just leave the 17:1 power rack in and loop the fluid line instead of swapping in a 19:1 manual?

Re: please help!!!!!! manual steering rack conversion problems (fkncivic)
I ran into the same problem on my 99 Si. Bought a 97 DX rack and discovered that the coupler (both stock and a 97 DX)was to big to grab the rack pinion shaft.
I called up hondaautomotiveparts.com and they discovered that there were actually 2 different part numbers.
The following part number worked for me ( it fit the steering column on a 99 Si and the shaft on the manual rack):
53323-SR0-003

Re: please help!!!!!! manual steering rack conversion problems
I just wanted to confirm that NXSpoon was correct regarding the linkage.
Just performed a power steering to manual swap yesterday on my 2000 Civic Si. Purchased a manual rack from detroit axle and the steering linkage part #53323-SR0-003 from www.hondapartsnow.com
Swap went great with minimal modification.
Will be writing an article on this swap on honda tech in the future to help anyone that was in my position with what seems like no other resources on the internet for this job.
