Default Please Help Alternator Problem

I got a 96 ek hatch (Canadian)
Just swapped in a 98 y8 from the states

I had to reuse my y7 altenator because the y8 did not come with it

My y7 altenator has three wires Black/yellow, white/blue and white/red

On the y8 the harness uses a four wire connector Black/yellow,white/blue, white/red and white/green.

Apparnetly Amrican si's use a four wire and the Canadian version uses three wire.

BTW I used the y8 harness

I matched up the colors that I could and had the white/green wire left over(control signal) the alternator does not charge the battery hooked up like this. Altenator was good before the swap and my car just dies now.

Is there any way I can wire this up to work or do I need a 4 wire alternator.

Also the four wire connector does not fit in the alternator.

Thanks

Could I splice the leftover signal wire into one of the other wire????

Need some help with this asap

the wires that are hooked are the black/yellow(battery volyage),white/red(lamp), white/red(fr signal).

I would like an answer to this as well. I'm in the same dilemma.
