So i need to replace my transmission on my 94 civic lx (with 95 **** engine) and my boy told me that i could swap it out for any 92-2000 ex transmission... is that true... also, i forgot where i bought my other tranny bc it was about 3 years ago so i wanted to ask, does anyone know where i can get a tranny with low milage... im in the NJ area but im willing to buy imported tranny's... anyone, please help...

definitely check out the Honda-Tech Marketplace forums cause people get rid of D-series trans ALL the time for dirt cheap - or you can go to http://www.hmotorsonline.com get their phone number (they are out in california) and order a trans from them, also pretty cheap and very reputable company.

as long as you have a D-series motor im pretty sure you can put a 92-2000 ex trans on it...and if you can get your hands one, TRY to get the 2000EX trans..best D-series trans they offer - steel shift forks instead of aluminum, best accelerating D-series trans and its still VERY cheap. it comes off of the D16Y8 motor.

yeah i would get the ex tranny...check out the marketplace or ebay or a local junkyard.

i wouldnt check a junkyard unless you know someone who owns one - when i replaced my motor i had to order a trans separate from a junkyard and they wanted 650 for it, only good thing about it was it has a 6 month warranty. but you can find one for MUCH cheaper
