Default Please guys take a look at this

my ek used to be an automatic the mechanic said....and i now have a broken motor mount...and the previous owner says he has had problems with that same motor mount....does this mean it will keep breaking?....even if i use aftermarket mounts??

No. Unless it is installed wrong or the bushing just gone wrong.

You might want to do a search for automatic to manual conversion on EK's.

I know that with EG's if you switch the tranny from automatic to manual that you will either need to reweld one of the tranny mounts into a different position, or buy a new custom mount from hasport or one of those companies and you don't have to go through the hassle of cutting and rewelding.

I broke a motor mount and got a new one, no problems. If you are really worried about it then get some motor mount inserts when you get your new motor mount.

Auto to Manual swap requires cutting the old tranny mount off and replaceing it will the 5 spd one. It is at a flatter angle to mount the tranny. If it keeps breaking then someone has installed something wrong or they can weld.
