Default Planning to get an EJ8 Quick Questions

hi im planning on getting a 96-00 civic which is why I joined this forum recently. I was just wondering if you guys think it would be worth it to just get a b18c gsr motor and swap it out or stick with the stock d16y8?

I will be using the car as a DD and a weekend track car. I am hoping or trying to achieve 250-300 hp. If not the b18c or the d16 are there any other suggestions on motors?

boost is something I do have planned to do in the future. thanks alot guys.

Worth it? Are you referring to cost? Time invested? Horsepower gains?
