piston questions
ive got a friend with a 97 dx with a b18c5 swap. he wants to run 12:1 pistons and we think he will be fine with civic type-r's but the place we have things done says he needs to go all forged internals. no spray no boost. his setup will be spinning to 9600. will the type-r pistons be ok?

my friend has a gs-r motor with jdm itr pistons and a head with cams valve springs and retainers and we were spining that motor to 9300

He doesn't need forged pistons, but if he's gonna be going that high on a regular basis it definately wouldn't be a bad idea. There's nothing wrong with the CTR pistons, but they've got a lower tolerance for the high rpm's than forged pistons do.
