Default Pirelli 205/45r16 any experience guys?

So I got 205/45r16 kumho ecsta on my 2000 Em1.

They were okay but my next choice would be Pirelli.
I live in a desert so dry pavement all the time. Daily driver.

Let me know what you guys think about these tires in specific or throw your inputs on others.

Thanks! Also if you got an em1 please post a pic haha.

AD08's or Ventus RS3's or BFG rivals if you don't want to drop below 200 UTQG I had AD08's last year and loved them they're about as close to an R-compound tire as you'll get!. don't expect to get more then 5K miles from them tho and they run excess of 800$

I would not use expensive tires in the desert on a street car, especially a daily driver...

He said dry pavement all the time...most of those tires are not favorable to rain and cold, thus I suggested some of the best street tires for him.

I don't live near the desert but I have 205-50/17 Pirelli P6s on my summer rims and I love them. They have a stiff sidewall so the sidewall doesn't flex so much, and they're pretty sticky on dry pavement...I've never been able to do much more than a quick chirp on take off with them (aside from in the rain) which could be my car's lack of power but I like to believe it's the tires since I've had no problem turning Nexens and Goodyear RSAs over. Goodyear f1s are a good buy too. Is say the biggest downside to Pirelli is the fast treadwear

you guys do realize that as far as "grip" goes you want to look the UTQG aka "treadwear" 200 is the cut off for street tires with some exceptions like AD08's and ventus RS3's. generally over 300 and you've got an all season tire sure it's grippy but it's meant to perform all around and last for a decent/ok amount of miles, i'll never get why ppl cheap out on tires after all think...what's the one(4) things touching the ground. You could have a ton dumped into suspension but without GOOD tires it won't matter too much. Alternatively I put my r888's (100 UTQG) on my FIT for a joke in place of my "summer" Proxes T1R's there was a serious difference(300 to 100 UTQG) mind you those are r compound tires.

I get what you're saying, and yes the p6s I have are a 400 utqg...I'm just saying for what they're meant to be, they're a good tire, and my car doesn't see any racing events where I need the extra grip so I don't mind compromising a bit

If you're not seeing track time, try the BFG G force sport comp...I'm fairly sure its made in that size. Is the Kumho Ecsta SPT made in that size? The SPT is probably one of the better "max performance" tires.

If you want just a straight up normal *** tire...you could try an all season.

Honestly I'm not too sure what's available in that size that's a good DD tire.

Just looked on tire rack. I guess the best tire out of the bunch for simply just normal DD would be the Continental DWS. It's actually a really good tire overall.

If you want to have more fun and get something performance oriented but still daily driveable:
-Yokohama S drive.
-BFG sport comp 2
-Bridgestone RE760
-Dunlop DZ02
