Default Pioneer stereo info please.

I have a pioneer deck and a 10 disc changer which is about 5 years old. Yesterday, my head unit decided to crap out on me! It will still play music and everything works, just the display is shot. It looks like it's off while i am driving. Since i don't want to waste my changer (works great), does anyone know if i got one of the newer pioneer head units, will it still control my old *** cd changer??

yes it might still work..depending on what type of cd changer it is it might even work w/ a different brand headunit. when you control it, does it work on an FM station or is it controlled by the headunit its self.. so answer is yes if its an fm modulated cd changer it will work, if its a pioneer control cable it still might work only way to tell is take it out and maybe go to circuit city and see what they say..

Go to the pioneer website and look up your changer, usually there will be a listing of which head units will work with that changer. good luck, also try posting this over in the audio forum.

yea the adapters for the old units are the same on the new Pioneer units.. So your cd changer will still work on the new units. But make sure the New headunit you get have a Cd changer option

If that headunit & changer works w/ the IP-Bus, then yeah, you can use the changer cuz the current Pioneer lines uses the IP-bus. If not... you might want to ask a local stereo shop for their 411...
