how big is it, they do need to be 'tapped' into place, its a snug fit. best bet is to take the flywheel with you to shops when looking for it, or better yet go to the dealer

They are suppost to be pressed in at a machine shop. They should not just push in with your hand.

are you using a book while doing your clutch change? your suppose to pull the flywheel out, then remove it out the other side, then your new one will fit from the other end the one facing the motor. And no you dont have to press these pilot bearings in, you can tap it in, def. wont be able to use just your hands.

nope thats what I thought too... luckly,,, even though it was my first time changing my clutch, I bought a new flywheel, the design is the same as the old one. so I noticed when I took the old one off how to put the new pilot bearing. So in any case, you still have to remove your old flywheel so you can have it resurfaced. Oh my motor was a B series,,, i have a feeling its the same for the D series also.. check out a helms manual to help guide you through. I downloaded it free somewhere here.

Damn, I could have told you that, but figured you knew. Yeah there is a lip that the baring sit's on so it only goes on one way. Atleast you have it all fixed now.

you have to remove the transmission to change the clutch dont you? never done one on a FWD car. changed one of my buddy's RX7 once, that was fun. tapped the pilot bearing in with a socket.

Yup, tranny has to be removed to change a clutch.
