Hey guys i need some opinions here. ok heres the deal: this is my 93 del sol with a recently swapped jdm type r b18c. i love the car but i have some minor rust on it and i dont know if anything can be done about it. i need a paint job big time and i want to re-do the exterior body work and everything, but i dont want to put the money in to it if the bottom if it is going to rot out from underneath me. if its not repairable im going to get a new southern car perhaps a civic or integra, something i can use my motor in. i dont want to get rid of the car but im not about to dump a bunch more money into a car that im not gonna have 10 years from now because of rust. take a look and tell me what you think. the last three pictures is the area im most concerned about.

Thats pretty much rust free man. I wouldn't even worry about that. As long as the places the rear suspension mounts to are solid the rest really doesn't matter, its pretty easy to fix a floor. But honestly here in eastern canada people would kill for a del sol in that kind of shape.

On mine, I've scrubbed spots like that a little with a wire brush to get rid of the surface rust, then sprayed them over with flat black rustoleum and/or spray undercoating (not on the bolts, obviously). I'm not sure if it stops it completely, but it makes it look better, and makes me feel better.

Yeah, like he said. Ha ha. I looks just like it's only surface rust from the pics. So sand it down. And rattle can the spots. And you're in business!!
