Pictures of the hell my Sol has been through and questions! (all your 56k are belong to us)
Ok so here's the story of my Sol. Even has pictures cuz we all know books without pictures ->
Ok so there's my Sol. Just got it. Paid 3300 total for it. Perfect interior, S model, 190k miles on it. The body looked like it was great condition too, and engine ran smoothly...later I found out that the car had a shitty repair job after the original owner got in a minor accident. The windshield wasn't replaced, the frame was bent slightly which set off the rest of the body panels, shitty maaco paint job. Oh well it wasn't too bad...
Accident #1
Well a friend and I celebrated 4th of july at my place. Starting fires, making homemade smoke bombs, burnt my mother's kitchen up pretty bad, etc... the usual.
Alcohol + Honda + Homemade Napalm = Scarred Driveway
I took him home about 1 in the morning, didn't know my way too well. On the way back, the winshield fogged up, defrost didn't work so I was just peering through the visible spot when a stop sign pops into my view, I slam brakes, and...
My friend picked me up, we went and got some tools, came back and couldn't get it out. So we called a tow truck. After a few hours it didn't show up, we called and were assured it would be out within an hour. So we waited another two hours, called back, they said the truck couldn't make it. So we had to wait until early morning to call someone. We got impatient and did the work ourself:
We put cinder blocks under jacks and jacked the car up, pulled out every damn piece of tree from under it, and then dragged the few hundred pound tree out from under it...that alone took a good hour or two. Getting the car OFF the jacks was a little more difficult, our plan was to slowly lower it, put blocks under the wheels, take the jacks out, then put the jacks under the car, take the blocks out from under the wheel and lower it. Well, halfway through lowering it jacks popped out and car fell off, saving us trouble.
After multiple tries we finally got it all the way up the hill and onto the road. One of the reasons I went through the barbed wire fince, off the little hill, onto a tree is because my tires were bald. Going up wet grass and dirt with little room to get speed was not easy.
Before...
After sanding and painting...
Accident #2
Well this occured leaving work to pick up something for work. I was going only 5 over the speed limit and some idiot who was at a complete stop pulls into my lane, I had new tires this time so fortunately speed dropped a bit before I slowly slid into the back of his car.
Idiot! Now I need new bumper, hood, fenders, headlights, cross member bar, bumper reinforcement, etc. I also found out where the frame bending was from the accident the original owner had, it's pretty small.
Something Good
Well looking through some local junk yards I found one with a wrecked vtec model Del Sol. It had the trunk lid with the OEM spoiler in perfect condition, and the guy only wanted 150 for it. Since honda told me the OEM spoilers were no longer in production, and that they cost over 300 when they were, I snatched this one up from the junk yard.
I was in the process of taking it apart so I could sand it down really good and clean it up and prime it, along with replacing all the rubber bumpers on it. The problem is that the screws that hold the spoiler onto the two support beams are severely rusted and if I try to unscrew them they just break apart. How could I get these out?
Also, so I don't have any problems in the future with a fogged up windshield and surprise stop signs, what would I check to fix whatever controls the vents? I can press different vent settings but they still always blow out the vents on the dash.
Thanks!

defrost only works well with the A/C on, otherwise it'll take like 30 minutes with just the heater

Or you don't drive if you can't see. You may think it is inconvenient, I think it is common sense.
To the thread starter, consider yourself luck that you didn't hit anything worse than a tree.

Normally people don't choose when their windows fog up. And sometimes there's no where to pull over, or there's somewhere you need to be. Where did he mention he was drinking?
I've been in his situation many times before, and usually there's nothing you can do about it but wipe the window an dhope for the best.

1. I wasn't intoxicated with alcohol, or I Wouldn't have drove. Not only does that endanger my life but it endangers the lives of others
2. I know how to use the defrost, it's just when I press any button on the climate control thing it always blows air out the front...
3. And like jolt said, I didn't choose for my windows to fog up, if they were fogged when I got in the car I wouldn't have drove. As I said I didn't know too well where I was, and the incident happened less than a minute after the windows fogged up.
I'm not a moron just don't have good luck

Solder joints in your climate control are screwed up maybe.
