Picture request - eg6 door panel tweeters
I was hoping that one of you might be able to post a picture of the back side of jdm eg6 door panels with optional tweeters installed.
I’m specifically looking to see how the tweeter bracket mounts the tweeter prior to cutting into my own door panels. Additionally, I would like to see where exactly the jdm hole was cut (I know there is a template on the back of the door panel; just curious if there are any notches or anything that need to be cut in addition to following the template).
I’m not looking for pictures of the usdm version as I’ve heard that they are installed slightly different than jdm.
Thank you in advance! And happy new year!

Also tape over the vinyl to reduce shredding when the whole saw hits the soft material.

Do not use a hole saw! The instructions (from memory, because I wondered this too) say to use a utility knife. I can foresee a hole saw shredding the vinyl on the front side of the panel. At minimum making a mess of things. Don't do it!

I've used a hole saw before and it worked fine. Just make sure to be careful.

You could always cut the vinyl with a utility knife first then hole saw the plastic.
Utility knife on the hard plastic is a real challenge and doesn't turn out well in my opinion.

From memory (again, I'm still in Germany so don't have the instructions with me, nor do I have a view of the back side of the door panel...), the hole to be cut is not a perfect circle, so you would wind up needing a utility knife anyway. I mean, if you're aiming for 100% like in the instructions.

the tweeter covers the hole anyways, perfection doesn't have to be 100%.
Had to cut the fog light holes for the 99-00 bumper, def hiding some imperfections there.

I have a set of optional tweeters BNIB. I believe there is a template in the box with instructions. I can check later on tonight.
