pics of upper timing belt cover cut out so cam gear is accessible?
anybody with a sohc have a pic of how you cut out the upper timing belt cover so the belt is still covered, but you can still access the cam gear for adjustment?

stupid idea! then when something wacks the belt on the highway youll be real thankful u can adjust your gears ;x

i think he wants it so stuff doesnt hit the timing belt but he can still adjust the gears...

I have no timming belt cover at all. Chances are better you would get in a wreck and crack your block first.

they should make a timing belt cover that u can flip open like a door whenever u need to adjust your cam gear. haha.

can't you just use a jig saw and cut a hole in the cover? seeing as how it is made of plastic.

I've just left mine off, never had any problems except when I dropped the keyway for the cam gear into the bottom timing cover when replacing the headgasket.

stupid mistakes can still happen one of my friends dropped a tennis ball in the engine bay of my other friends b18 integ. it got caught in the belt and phucked the motor.... I will never go w/o all the covers again......

Why the **** was your friend putting tennis ***** in the engine bay? Was he shooting a watergun into the intake manifold too?

he didn't put it in there, it got dropped on accident. And by the way, he is no longer in our "circle of friends" anymore.
