Default Pics of my new white egg. Technical questions also.

Until recently, I have always been an EF fan. Then my girlfriend bought a 96 Teg GSR and did this:

and this:

Which caused me to sell this: (for 4500$)

After I sold my crx for 4500, I found this for $3300.

I have about $1000 to play with. I need all the info I can get on how to do everything right. Basically, I cant teardown the GSR for at least 2 more months because .. lets just say.. for insurance purposes. A friend of mine has a 4 door 94 EX. I'm wanting to get some of the goodies from it also. What should I grab from it? Also, what will I need to make this 96 GSR motor work? I'm not familiar with ODB ****.. I don't even know what it means. The only reason im even mentioning that is because I figured the 96 TEG would have a different type of emission than the civic. From what I know, I should just get a motor mount kit. That's all that I need (from what I know). I'm sure there's more little **** I will have to buy right>? Shifter? axles? I may have to give my GF some loot for letting me do this so, what do you think a reasonable amount is for the 96 GSR in the picture? Its got 100k on it. ok.. ill shut up for now. Thanks guys. Monday im taking the hatch to dent wizard. Ohh.. one last thing. I really want the carbon fiver hood / rear wing / and to lower it. Bodykits NW wants 300 for the hatch wing, and 420 for the hood. both are shipped prices. As far as suspension, I was going to just get skunk coilovers. I'm debating if thats where I shoulld spend my leftover grand. wing, hood, coilovers? lemme know. Thanks.

everything from your teg will bolt in, brakes, suspension, motor, seats,
and with a little fab, even the back seats, dash etc...
they are basically the same car, u have a perfect situation right now, it should all be fairly easy..
good luck, heres some sites that could help
http://tech.hybridgarage.com/tech/5gtech.html ,
uh well actually the only site, also search the posts created by our mod Tom
b18c5-eh2 he has shared alot of helpful info on these topics, esp. the brakes and little hardware,
good luck

yeah basically you got a world of fun ahead of you. Almost anything you name, you can basically put on your car. If you scroll down there is a recent thread of a guy putting a teg dash in a civic with a semi-how to on it. The engine is a peice of cake, it will bolt right in with just a conversion harness and a 94-95 gsr ecu. So whatever you want. Will be a really clean ride as soon as you get to touch it. For now, with the extra cash, build the suspension, get a set of spring and shocks or a set of coilovers. The brakes and swap bars and such you can grab from the teg. Lots of fun ahead. good luck and btw i don't really see that much damage for the car to be totaled but what do i know.

oh yeah it is eg not egg man. fix your title.

nope, you can use your integra mounts all the way around and your integra shift linkage, just unplug your wiring, pull it to the side, pull the motor, drop in the gsr motor, then use your wiring from your eg to wire it up,99% of the wiring will plug right up with no problems at all,the easiest would be to drop the whole sub frame and swap out suspension and all at the same time, just depends on what kind of garage you have and tools.any obd1 ecu will plug right into your factory harness.this wap is just as easy as replacing your sohc with another sohc.

holy ****
I cannnot believe its that easy. DAMN! So, and ODB1 ecu is from 94-95 tegs? How much and where can I obtain one cheap. Also, will I need another ECU to make the CX engine work in the teg? Im just going to swap out all of the componets.

Also, since im going to swap all the CX stuff to the GSR and the GSR stuff to the civic, what should I do about cv joints. I dont mind purchasing rebuilt gsr axles for the hatch, but.. will the gsr axles go into the CX rotor and wheel assembly? WOOOOHOOOO GSR4ME THANKS EVERYONE.. DAMN.. F EF'S

You're not thinking of doing all that and giving the car back to insurance right? Fines/jail time are pretty bad for insurance fraud.

**** NO. the only reason we cant do it now is because my GF is still driving the damn thing! Untill she gets the money for the settlement on the accident, she cant buy anything else. get the picture? damn.. anymore technical advice>? i dont need moral advice TY.

ya know though, thats a good idea since I have paid 300$ / month for the last 6 years driving. 300 * 12 * 6.. Thats enough to buy 9 gsr swaps. Anyone one want one?

And Ive never been in an accident. *knocks on wood*

you should pull the ex wiring harness of your friends car and grab the ecu too if its a 5spd and have it chipped to run the gsr motor, u'll need a 94-95 gsr alternator and injectors to be able to plugnplay the ex harness... you also need the delsol dohc vtec a/c compressor mount for the a/c or u could use the cx mount and have only two bolts holding it... and yes the gsr axles will go into the cx hub/rotors, it'll take the same vice versa to put the cx motor in the teg unless somebody's able to do the cut/splice deal with the stock harness, i just like plugnplay alot better... hope this helps, l8rz

The wheels are scratched up pretty bad.

And thanks for the info again. I think ill just use the CX wiring harnessl I think I can get an ECU cheaper than I could get a gsr alt etc.. Pluss, his EX is an automatic. Last but not least, what ecu is required to make the CX engine work in the GSR.?

if the break setup is still salvagable, do a drum to disc conversion.

you might me able to use the gsr ecu in the cx,the car should run but will throw codes,it really depends on what you have planned for the gsr,if all else you could get a conversion harness and put the cx ecu in there or(im not sure on this) but you might be able to use a obd 2 civic ecu in there,i see the civic si ones on e bay all day long for about $50,as far as your axles go,put the cx axles in the gsr, with the cx tranny and motor it they should fit with no problems.
