D15's are garbage ? Yea ok.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I'll still take a D16A6 over a 1.5L. The 1.5L rods are hellified weak, and you can drop D16A1 rods into the D16A6 and have no need for forged rods if going N/A.
I'd also take the D16A6 and bore it over or even get it sleeved and bored and have more displacement than the 1.5L if it was bored.
Arguing why you like the D15 block over the D16 block is like when people try to argue how they like their B16A block over the B18 blocks. It all comes down to personal preference, and I'd prefer the 1.6L over the 1.5L any day of the week.
A few more points about the D16A6 over the 1.5L blocks:
D16A1 P29 high-dome pistons drop right into the D16A6 with no modifications. That combined with the metal D16Y8 head gasket and you have a streetable 11:1CR with all O.E Honda parts.
How do I know?
My D16A6 with those slugs and stock head, cam, etc. with only other mods being an old DC 4-2-1 header and a 2.25 exhaust pulls really nicely out of the hole and in the midrange especially. For a daily driver such as my hatch I like the extra grunt that the D16A6 provides.

Only thing that you said that I actually agree with.
I can make a 11.99:1 comp with a d15.
z6 heador y7 head/b7 block/vx or d15b rods/ y8 pistons.
It works both ways. Like I said. I love the a6. Just prefer the d15 from MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of owned motors.

If you want to rev to the redline frequently on those pencil-thin rods then be my guest.

Ask him if the thicer A1 rods are actually better.
Thicker yes. Stronger ? He says no.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Mista who?
Just kidding.
I have stock A6 rods in my D16A6 because I didn't care for the heavier A1 rods in my mild N/A build. I would still rather have the A6 rods over the D15 rods though in case of a misshift, etc. etc.

Yes when you look at it that way it does make sense.
I work at a shop that only does Acuras and Hondas. I have access to all sorts of tools, lifts, etc. and I'm STILL a lazy **** when it comes to working on my own car.
My D16A6 build took me about 5 months just because I'm lazy.

i assume you know this, but others may not. the vx rod is the same size as the d16 rods (only different id on the big end). they are NO weaker than any d16 rod.
and if your talking about easy/cheap rod upgrades for the d16, you should be talking about ls rods. cost me 35 shipped for the rods, and 75 to have them bushed and shaved.
