Pics of Motor Swap --- Lookin for a few opinions!! 56k beware!
Ok,,, here's some pics of our h22a swap into my 98 EX.
The motor was out of a h22a j-spec half-cut that I got from Jarco Motors.
And of course had to get the Hasport H-series swap mounts and others:
And then here's the ol' d16 with a SOLID hole in the block.... I guess that 75 shot was a lil' too much for the ol 16.
And then the final tweaking with new seals, gaskets, Spec Clutch, plugs, and of course a little degreaser and paint!
So any opinions, thoughts, questions, or comments? I dont' have Power steering cause it wouldn't fit, and we had to notch out the bottom of the frame to get the damn A/C to fit. I know, I know. Everyone's wondering WHY I put a damn A/C on something like this. Well, believe it or not, I will wanna drive this somewhere this summer, and i AIN'T gonna burn my *** off during the process. Call me Lazy.

No on the "right-hand drive question". I was gettin to antsy to simply get the damn thing back together I guess. Was just itchin to go play
Does anyone have some h22 internals they would be interested in letting go? Or maybe the best website, price-wise, for parts? I'm lookin to get Skunk2 valves, springs, retainers, camshafts, cam-gears, pistons and rods, etc. etc. Also waiting for that ever-so-eager release for the Skunk2 Intake manifold for the h22's!!

Ahhh... Got the motor from Jarco Motors.
http://www.jarcoinc.com
The WHOLE half-cut was only like $2195 or so. (I got it at dealer cost through a good friend that owns a import performance shop here in my town.)
They're great people. GREAT customer relations with any questions i might have had, with a prompt delivery!!
As far as the axles,,,they're from Hasport too. I don't remember the exact price, but i think i ended up giving like $350 for the h-series conversion mounts for my 98 EX, and like a little under $200 for the axles, although i don't remember exactly without diggin for my receipts.
http://www.hasport.com
And as far a what it ALL cost me, I'm not sure off hand either. The catch is it'll nickle and dime you to death. Stuff like all the seals, gaskets, plugs, paint, wires, oil, timing belts, etc. etc. I replaced EVERYTHING that i might have to replace in the near future anyway. And ONLY used factory Honda parts. OEM baby! The way to go!
Installation was pretty much free being that it was done by a friend that just opened an import perfomance shop here in town. He does GREAT work, and takes his projects and jobs ONE at a TIME. No corners cut!! If you're needing anything done, (Turbo, motor swap, suspension work, etc. etc.), he's the man to go to!!
