Picking up a EG SI w/ 213k miles
This isn't my first car, but i'm just wondering since it has so many miles; what should i look out for that would be breaking, or needing repair soon?
i'd be doing regular things when i first get it, like flush the coolant, oil, and tranny. but other than that, i have no clue. any1 else got some good ol' suggestions? let me know!

Only way to know is to test the drive the car. Listen for unusual noises, look for oil leaks, body damage...etc.....
I bought my civic with 234k. The things I had to change were sparkplugs, cap, rotor, wires, oil pan gasket, cat converter (im in ca), rear trailing arm brushes, air filter and brake pads. Im currently at 246k and the car runs great.

At that kinda mileage most of the stuff that was going to go wrong probably already has, possibly twice. Whatever is wrong with it now, It's very possible that its the only major stuff you will have to worry about.

ok, thanks thats good to know. but since it has such high mileage, what oil should i use? a 10w-30 or 5w-30, but like a high mileage formula? i use mobil 1 in my EK, but that only has 80k miles on it

That car has about as many miles as mine does, so I will tell you what I'm dealing with at the moment. Unless changed recently, the ball joints, bushings, and tie rod ends are probably all about shot by this many miles. Depending on the PO maintenance, it could need a timing belt and water pump, the exhaust could be rotting away, and it could probably use an alignment (especially after you replace all of the worn out bushings/ball joints I mentioned earlier). I would change the oil and tranny fluid, flush the coolant, get a new fuel filter, check the plugs, wires, dizzy cap and rotor, etc....Then just drive it. You should be able to spot the problems easy enough. Oh, the clutch master and slave cylinders could be on their way out also. Good luck with it!

I've done only replacing my timing belt, fuel filter, plugs, and thats it.
How hard is it to replacing the ball joints, bushings, and tie rod ends? is that part of the axles? if so, in my EK i just replaced them since they made that squealing sound whenever I turned.

lowers seemed a little confusing on where i was reading it, but uppers are just replacing the UCA?
and the exhaust rots? where should I expect it to rot first? I know i'll take a jack to it and expect it tonight when i get it, but is there usually a place for EG's where it is notorious to rot?
