Picked up my ITR motor finally. Pics.... 56K grab a snickers
To start off, i order my 96spec itr motor from HMO. Looks good so far.
Was suppose to be shipped to my house, but troubles aroused, and i had to get it myself from the shipping center. used moms trusty ol' Nissan quest.
Good STUFF
So this means its LSD right? i know itrs are suppose to have em.
Ok now the problem. My car isn't going to the shop till its painted. I was planning on dropping the motor off at the shop meanwhile, but he said its to cramped up right now, just bring it when i bring the car. Well my mom needs some space in the van, how the hell am i gonna get it out and put it in my garage?

A hoist a.k.a. cherry picker is what you use to take the motor in and out of the car. You can always go ghetto and drop the motor, lift the car and slide motor from under it but I do not recommend it.

It's covered by the wrap. but I belive it's there becuase i see a bulge in the wrap where the lower driver side mount is. It's 102 degrees in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas today. WE need A/c

I just looked at it, and i cannot see through it either. Looked like something from the other end was stuffed in, so i looked on the other side, and something was stuffed into it. Looked like the end of an axle, but it wasnt an axle..
The pick if from the drivers side...opposite side of distributor

Re: (Slow-R)
ok my mom is getting pretty ticked about the motor in the van. She needs the van, and i need to get the motor out asap. I don't have a hoist, so thats useless. What the hell do i do?

Re: (Jawad)
get a work of a table you dont care if it gets dinged... put table behind van. Slide engine out. Make sure table is sturdy. If you have no table make or find one. Cut the legs to the desired height

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
3 people should be able to lift the motor out no problem. 3 of us loaded and unloaded my B16 out of a Dodge Dakota w/ ease so 3 should be able to do it with the heavier B18c.

i hope your engine is a good one.
i got my B18C from HMO a few months ago, swapped it in and now it's burning oil... a lot of it.
you probably got a a/c compressor with it... i got one with mine.

Yeah doing it ghetto is kinda tough. Good thing I did my swap on a hydrolic lift. Dropped the SOHC motor through the bottom, lifted the car up, put the LS motor under it and the lowered the car onto the motor. Way easier than using a cherry picker IMO.
I like said above, 3 people is enough to take the motor out. Me and two of my other friends, weighing in between 130-170 lbs, loaded and unloaded motor and tranny a few times!

Like bringing home a new baby
If its LSD....it should be stamped "LSD" on the tranny i believe....correct me if im wrong.
I find it easier from under the car because dropped it in the from the top is kinda hard because u have to make sure everything clears. Also...the engine mounts are easier to line up Ive done it both ways and from the bottom is easier....check it out:

three guys that are decently strong could get that out its just gonna be a bitch.
Just be carefull motors ae unforgiving, if it falls on any part of your body its gonna hurt and your gonna be fugged up. I know from experiece... At the shop i was workin on a v8 and some *** didnt put the pin that locks the engine stand so it kinda rolled into my lap, luckily i got away with minor cuts and bruises. i kinda rolled as it was falling down. Stupid freshman are too blame..haha
