PGM-FI... Why!?
D16z6 vtec - '93 del Sol
I've noticed on a lot of Honda (friends cars, CL, etc...) they have the PGM-FI manifold. I have D16, however, and my manifold appears just as a typical manifold. I know Honda introduced PGM-FI in '87, but does that mean that every Honda has since been manufactured with PGM-FI?
To sum up my n00bish question. Why do Hondas have the "PGM-FI" manifold and mine has what looks like to be the 'average joe', stock manifold? Would vtec not suggest that PGM-FI is equipped on the car already?
Help me out if you could. Thanks.

Re: PGM-FI... Why!?
PGM-FI is programmed fuel injection, multi-port in this case.
All muti-port fuel injected Hondas (having an injector for each cylinder) are PGM-FI, whether it says it on the intake manifold or not.
Honda did in fact make carburated engines after '87 and into the '90s, but not in North America to my knowledge.

Re: PGM-FI... Why!?
So, another question. The Ecu automatically knows the air to fuel in each cylinder, correct?
That being said. Would larger injector and aftermarket fuel rail (bolted up on my engine right now) make a difference or would you have to tune to see a difference?
