performance exhaust and header on gsr
I am new to B series. I just got a stock gsr installed w/ intake of course and I am using my 1.5 liter exhaust. I am about to get a tune with crome and I was wondering if a stock header and apexi world sport exhaust make a decent difference for the money or if its worth getting a dc sport header AND the apexi exhaust. I know the gsr breaths well so I am assuming I am not wasting my money on exhaust? If I dont get a header it will cost me 700 dollars for the apexi world sport, tune and install. Of course adding a header will take me up to close to a grand- Basically what would you do and is it worth the hp and tq gain?

Re: performance exhaust and header on gsr (doood)
I figured since its a 1994 jdm motor that been sitting around maybe a tune could help it? It feels fine right now but I am sure that 1.5 liter piping is killing my performance. I know I at least need exhaust. I guess the stock header is fine? After exhaust I was planning a tune just to speeze every ounce of hp out of it without do anything major. But is it stupid to tune with just intake and exhaust?

The tune wont net you much vs. how much it costs.
The stock piping for the d's are 1.89, it's the same for some b-series motors.
a 2.25" exhaust will help, but the exhaust isn't holding back "INSANE AMOUNTS OF STOCK B-SERIES POTENTIAL!!!"

The apexi WS2 isn't gonna give any dramatic HP... You're lookin around 5hp or so, depending on what else is done. ANyways, the WS2 is more of a "discrete exhaust", meaning it's kinda one of those "more-like-stock" looking exhausts like the RS*R ex-mag. If you want significant HP gains, there's mroe out there that are either the same price or a better bang for the buck (custom piping / custom muffler). However, if you're like me, you like carrying a name on the products RS*R ex-mag for me

I'm with everyone else. A good fluid change, some new plugs, wires, maybe a dizzy cap. All the normal stuff. All this will probably lend you a better running engine for less than a tune.

Re: performance exhaust and header on gsr (EJProject)
thanks guys- I have already done a tune up like stated- ANd I must say the motors feels great. I have decided after passing at least 10 cops the past day and a half I will keep the stock exhaust. I am not getting a tune either. Thanks a lot guys for clearing up my mind. Like I said this is my first b swap and its been a while since I had my zc swap. Have a great night(or day?)!
