yah.. possibly stupid unless there is a reason to.

Won't make any more power on a stock motor up in those rpms. Just lots of heat.

The highest I've take my R engine to is 8,000.

Too bad my B18C5 made peak whp at 8100rpm my friend.

I shift at 9200rpm at the dragstrip. I don't give a **** what anyone else says - although the whp does drop off after 8400rpm or so, the higher revving makes you land DEEP within the powerband in the next gear.

Plus I had an ATS 4.929FD in my car so unless I shifted at 9200rpm I'd have to shift into 5th gear by the end of the 1/4 mile!

Daily driving?

I probably shift at 8200rpm routinely.

I live in the Jonesboro Stockbridge arear and I do have a B18C5 in my 1992 CX hatch. Do you really have a Phantom Grey (not Pewter - JDM-only color)CX with B18C5? If so I put the motor in that car in my driveway! It had black Lenso VPDs on it though, not Rotas. You pretty much describe that car to a "T" in your signature. If you do have it then it used to belong to one of my best friends until his bitch wife made him sell it.

If you ever want a ride in my hatch feel free to hit me up M-F at my shop. (770)603-9197.

Oh and if anyone want to talk **** about my choice of RPM when draghing then please note I will be hitting 13.0 or dare I say 12.99 my next trip to the dragstrip. I've already hit a 13.3@101mph with a 2.0 60 footer. My last run was a 1.8x 60-footer but a $24.00 clutch fork broke so I didn't get my 12.99
